How to "Think" About Change

Perennial Habits Course (Part II)
1
The Balloon by Maurice Pendergast (c. 1900)

Most of us know firsthand that adopting a new habit is challenging.

We briefly discussed change through the lens of a metaphor known as the rider and the elephant in part 1 of this Perennial Habits course (How to Change When Change is Hard). Specifically, we discussed the need for clarity, motivating the elephant, and shaping the path for change. As a reminder, the course consists of email meditations on Tuesdays and Fridays (w/ audio), along with live meetups on Wednesdays (26 Apr, 10 & 24 May) at 7:00 pm EST.

Today’s meditation focuses on How to “Think” About Change (e.g., The stages of change and thinking about thinking).
