The art (and science) of change has fascinated me for over a decade. I’ve taken countless courses, coaching programs, and even certifications on the topic. And still, I find change difficult and a bit of a mystery at times. However, in my experience, understanding human nature and the art (and science) of change can be a powerful combination.
Over the next six weeks of our Perennial Habits course, we will explore the science of change and the art of timeless practices (e.g., meditation, gratitude, journaling, etc.) for modern life.
How to Change, When Change is Hard
Where do we begin to discuss change? There are countless books and resources on the topic. One of my favorites, which has stuck with me over the years, is Switch by Chip and Dan Heath. The authors stress that there are many surprises about change. One is that “knowledge does not change behavior.”
