Greetings Friends,
Thank you for reading and listening this week! Below is a short contemplation from Stoic Paradoxes by Cicero and links to this week’s meditations.
Until next week, be wise and be well!
📿 The Art of Virtue
This week’s contemplation comes from the writings of the Roman statesman Cicero. In Paradox II of his Stoic Paradoxes, Cicero wrote,
When virtue is present in a man, nothing will be lacking for proper living.
No man whose virtue and behavior should be praised cannot also have a life that should be praised. Furthermore, a life of running away from things is hardly a praiseworthy life. A life of fleeing is a miserable life. We conclude, then, that whatever is praiseworthy ought to be seen as happy, advantageous, and suitable. […]
Contemplation Questions (Pick one or create your own!):
What if virtue is all you need to live the good life?
How does one begin to live a virtuous life?
